 Hiya!

This week I come to you with a post about the things that I am currently working on! I have quite a few pieces of writing in progress, I am trying to split my time between them all. It allows me to jump from one piece to another, especially if I am not vibing with a certain piece at the time. I always have something else to work on.

Whilst keeping my creativity stimulated I have been running my new Instagram (@dollysfunkos) where I take photos and share my addiction to Funko Pops! My collection is forever growing and I don't see this stopping in the near future. I love getting creative with photography and it's becoming one of my favourite hobbies! The Funko Community are ever so lovely.

I am currently reading Jack of Hearts (and other parts) by L.C Rosen. I am thoroughly enjoying the book so far, and I cannot wait to share the book review with you. I have been reading this one for a little while now, not that it is particularly long but I have been in a reading funk. I am getting myself out of this funk though! Chapter by chapter I am falling back in love with reading. Next on my reading list is The Green Mile by Stephen King.

My main writing focus is my Fairytale Collection. The collection doesn't have a name yet but I know it will come to me the more I write and work on the fairytales. The idea of writing a fairytale collection was inspired by my Dissertation. I am creating my own collection of feminist and queer fairytales.  I intend the collection to be accessible for all ages, something to inspire children as well as adults. I am having such a good time writing this collection, it may be the best piece of work of mine yet.  I shared the first story in the collection with the blog a little while back: Such A Fall. I am loving writing queer characters that I (and others in the LGBTQ+ community) can relate to! I am unsure when this work will be complete but I am not rushing the process, just enjoying it.

I am currently putting together a poetry collection of all my best works. I am hoping to self publish the collection in the future. I have really become to adore poetry, and I find it such an amazing way to express myself. I love sharing my work with the blog, the messages I receive are so heartwarming. I know I have a long way to go with tailoring my poetry and learning more, but to capture where I am with a collection would be a dream come true. It gives me chills thinking about flipping through a book of my own poetry - so keep an eye out for this in the future! I am hoping to have published this before the end of 2021!

A few things are going on in my life, from a potential new career starting soon,  to a blooming relationship and friendships. I hate to jinx myself but I actually feel put together. Is this adulting?  I am going to finish the book I am reading this week and I will be back next week with a book review. Hope you all have a fabulous week.

Where to find me

Saturday, 9 November 2019

Hello!!

I come to you with an... update I guess. I have been dealing with writer's block lately, and Uni has been stressful so I haven't really been able to put time into my blog. Which is sad because I love my blog, being able to write whatever and share things with you guys. It is fun and quite cathartic for me.
I have recently invested in The Blogger's Companion. It is basically a blogging journal with prompts. It is fun and so useful for when I want to write but don't know what to write. I want to work on my blog this Summer, make it more active and just for me to write more! As a writer I don't write as much as I would like to, so I am hoping this little book will help with this.

I will still be posting my usual content, such a book reviews, Sims posts, my own poetry and things. This is just so I can get in the groove of writing more frequently. I am hoping to make Monday my weekly blog post day. I am crap with trying to follow a schedule but hopefully, I can stick to this one, at least see how long I can go.  Also if you are also a blogger, you can order this little gem of a book online. Click the image and it will take you to the Amazon page where you can purchase it.

I have had a quick neb at the book, some of the weekly prompts look promising. Not all of them, as they don't really cater to the vibe I am trying with my blog. I am hopeful though if anything it is a bit of fun. My blog won't change much, I am just hoping to write more.

My blog has recently well this year been updated, the layout and all that jazz. Which means the follow button has moved too, I would appreciate it if you would give the blog a little follow. It would mean the world. At the top of the page is three little lines and if you click that and scroll you will see the little follow button!

What content do you as a reader want to read and see on here? As I look at my most popular posts, it seems you guys enjoy my Sims Posts, as well as little lifestyle ones. If you have any suggestions, please comment them below. I am open minded :)

The Blogger's Companion

Tuesday, 15 May 2018

Every once in a while I feel the need for change, and this time I decided to change the layout of my blog. If you haven't noticed already... if you're on a phone you might not see the full change but I am working on phone layout too!  I just feel as though my old layout was getting a bit dull and I just wanted things a bit more lively!  I am living for my new colour scheme, and I have even changed somethings around. I just feel like a refresh really motivates me, it makes me want to write more and work harder on my blog. Instead of posting randomly whenever I feel like it. I am aiming to post weekly, sometimes my brain is just like 'naahh mate I've got nothing for you.' which isn't helpful but it's something I am working on.
I have been working on one of my other pages too.  I have added a new page Ramblings. I say new page but I edited the name and content of 'Desires' mainly because it sounded weird. I gave that page a little makeover too. I decided that it will be my rambling pages, where I get to write crap basically. Things that don't make the cut for my main blog, but is still important enough for me to want to write it. It's nothing serious. I did post a piece over on there today though, I had written it on my main blog a couple months ago but I don't think it's the right content for here, so I never posted it. I talk about clubbing and emotional comedowns, it's not a very chirpy blog post mind.
This post isn't exactly exciting but I am chuffed with my new layout.  I am aiming to try and post every Monday, mainly because I hate Monday's so I am trying this new thing out where I approach things positively. Instead of thinking 'oh fuck it's Monday' I am trying to think 'Yey blog day!!'. We will see how well this turns out!
