What's in my trunk?

I feel like we are all fully aware I am a massive Harry Potter fan, so if you're not that into it I would probably skip this blog post but if you're curious about what is actually in my trunk then stay and have a neb. I ordered this from the Harry Potter shop Platform 9 3/4 in London. I paid £125, I know this seems steep but what you get inside and the actual trunk itself is so worth it. I usually wouldn't blow money this quick or spend this amount on one thing but this was from my own wage, I earned the money so I thought fuck it, I want it and it would be a great addition to my room.

I didn't really know what to expect with the actual trunk itself, I thought it might be a little cheap but I was wrong. It's trendy and I love the wood finish. Honestly, I have never been so excited about something in my entire life. As geeky as it sounds, the trunks genuinely made me feel more a witch. Like bitch, I am leaving for Hogwarts. I really love the crest on the front and the initials on the side. They're not stickers, I don't know they've done it but it's such a high-quality design.

To the side is a picture with my initials on the side LM. I loved that I was able to have my initials on my trunk, it is cute and quirky.

Ready for the big reveal? Everything that is on the inside! The trunk was difficult to open, one side opened perfectly and the other side took two of us to open. Not sure why, but I haven't locked it since. It's neatly closed with straps over.

 When you first open the trunk there is your Hogwarts letter (I am still screeching insided) on top and underneath is all the items covered with a cool brown paper with a Hogwarts wax seal, like the one on the back of the letter.

Like the geek that I am, I have no opened the letter. I want to keep it clean and perfect. I am contemplating buying another letter purely for the purpose of opening. I just want to keep this one as  a collector type of thing. Honestly, as I explored the trunk the closer to passing out due to happiness overload I became.

 This was the initial opening (above) and the rearranged version (below) there were a total of 13 items within the trunk: The Hedwig plush, Slytherin Hat & Scarf, Slytherin Pin, A Platform 9 3/4 key ring, Slytherin tie, Platform 9 3/4 ticket with a lanyard, Platform 9 3/4 chocolate bar, A Slytherin notebook and pen as well as The Hogwarts letter of acceptance and  Slytherin Tshirt. Not forgetting the wonderful trunk too.

 These two items are my favourite from the trunk. The pen and notebook, as a writer you can never have too much stationary... especially when it is Harry Potter themed!! Realistically, I probably won't use either of these. Purely because they're stunning and I don't really want to ruin them. I have a habit of buying Harry Potter notebooks and keeping them clean and new, essentially using them for decoration.

I live for showing house pride, my room is currently a theme between being bookish and a Slytherin.

This is a two sided key ring chain thing, I think what I love most about this one is the gold Platform 9 3/4 side. It's pretty and it's not in your face. I haven't found a home for this just yet, just because my keys are filled  with Harry Potter key rings already. I am sure I will find a home for this beauty though!

This item I was elated by, mainly because of the platform 9 3/4 train ticket. A very cool prom from the films, it's quality paper too. Like it't just a blurry picture painted on a crappy piece of paper. The company have put pride into their work and the quality they create, you definitely get your money's worth.

To the side is a cute chocolate bar with the Hogwarts Express theme going on. I love this, I haven't touched the chocolate yet, you know just going to have to save it for any unwanted dementors floating about.

 I love that the days and nights are getting colder down South (it's always cold up North) so these two items will come in handy. A knitted Slytherin Hat&Scarf. I am so ready to whack these out on Bonfire night when we are in some park watching fireworks.

Last but definitely not least, a Slytherin T-shirt. I have yet to wear it, I got it a couple sizes up incase I want to use it a nightie type of thing. I will never say no to Harry Potter themed clothes, I have so many already.

So, the trunk. Was it worth it? YES. Would I recommend you  buying one? Yes. I know it is pricey, but my plan is to also use the trunk for storage as well as actual decor for my room. They come in all of the house colours, as well as a general Hogwart's express theme, which is cool if you  don't know your house or if you want to buy this as a gift for someone and you perhaps don't know their house.

My Favourites - Harry Potter Edition

Fully aware I have yet to do a 'normal' my favourites post yet but we will get to that jazz later. I asked last week over on my Instagram if for last week I should post 'Plus Size' or this post. Plus size won but I always intended to make this post at some point so I thought I'd just post it this week. Which may defeat the whole point of the poll but I like to give my readers a choice, if you want to take part in my polls (I've only just recently started doing them) then go and follow my Instagram: WritingMyHeart or click any word that says Instagram on this post and it will (or should) take you straight to my page. Favourite Hogwarts House:

I feel like I really don't need to say it... but I will. My own house of course Slytherin. Fully aware we are cast as the bad house 'There's not a witch or wizard who went bad who wasn't in Slytherin' this is somewhat true. I mean our house animal is a snake... jokes aside. It is the house with a reputation for being bad, which isn't wrong it did produce Voldemort, Snape, Lucious Malfoy, the rest of the death eaters (with the exception of Wormtail but he was pathetic anyway) Bellatrix Lestrange... even the founder what a muggle hating prick. The list goes. Granted it doesn't look good. But all the houses have produced bad witches or wizards. We do have some good witches and wizards from our house: Regulus Black, Tonk's mother Andromeda and well sort of Horace Slughorn, he's a bit iffy but unintentionally. Draco too, I know this is debatable but fight me. Merlin is from Slytherin too. Plus the common room is pretty sick. I could talk all day and say how much I adore Slytherin but I won't. I show house pride, plus at least I'm not a Hufflepuff right?

Favourite Harry Potter Book:

This was a tough one to think about, all of the books have an aspect that I adore. I am always stuck between Prisoner of Azkaban and Order of the Phoenix. Both books are hilarious, and I love them for different reasons but I made the decision of picking Prisoner of Azkaban.  POA I like because you see more of Peeves, and for once see him in a serious manner when he helps Dumbledore locate the fat lady in the portraits. I also loved that Harry got to meet Lupin and Sirius, and finally have more of a real family. Even if one is on the run from escape Azkaban he still makes a better family member than the Dursleys.

Favourite Harry Potter Film:

Prisoner of Azkaban by far! I find the film hilarious, my favourite scene is on the night bus ‘take it away, Earl!!’ It’s just such a good film. I never have a bad word against this film, mainly the missing of Peeves but I’m mad about that in general with the whole series of films. This is also the film where Draco no longer looks like a child: Hallelujah!! I feel like my reasons for liking this film is similar to my reasons for the book. I just feel like things get better for Harry when it comes to his family life, which is always delightful. 

Favourite Hogwarts Haunted:

I couldn’t word this correctly because obviously Hogwarts is haunted by ghosts and as well as a Poltergeist. Peeves is my favourite though. He’s a mischievous character who is a complete dick, and I love it. He is one of the (many) reasons I enjoy the books much more, he’s entertaining and is constantly fucking things up. He’s loveable and annoying. If Peeves had went to screen he would have been played by the late Rick Mail, who I think would have aced it, I loved him in Bottom and Drop Dead Fred. Apparently, they filmed scenes of him playing Peeves but they cut them all... tragic I know. 

Favourite from the Golden Trio:
This is simple: Hermione. An intellegient bad ass woman who loves books? Yes, Queen!

Favourite Hogwarts Headmaster:
Dumbedlore, always Dumbledore. He did endanger a child's life for several years and basically taught the Dark Lord how to control his magic but sure he is still a hell of a guy!

Favourite Couple:
I don't really have one, I think the couples who became a couple were great but there were none I was completely OH MY GOD over. I liked the idea of a gay relationship between Draco and Harry but that is the most commitment I've put into couples as far as they go. 

Favourite Wand:
I currently own Draco's wand but I think next I want to purchase  Hermione's wand. Her wand is stunning!

My favourite Character:
I feel like this is so blatantly obvious. My favourite character is none other than Draco Malfoy. He's been my favourite for as long as I can remember. I know he's an arsehole but I just feel this whole hearted adoration for him. He is troubled, and is ends up getting into things that he doesn't want to. All to impress his father, who I absolutely despise. He is that guy you just want to help!






This was short and sweet, I think. I enjoyed writing about Harry Potter, as always. Slytherin

At the end of January my recent tattoo has been finished, my Slytherin tattoo. You may remember the blog post at the beginning of January of the outline being done. I am very pleased with my tattoo, being a huge Slytherin it feeds into my addiction.

This blog post isn't just about my new tattoo but my Slytherin life. First I’ll show you the tattoo and then go into my Slytherin profile!

"There’s not a single witch or wizard who went bad who wasn’t in Slytherin.” I quote Hagrid but also my flatmate who is Gryffindor.  

Slytherin traits: Cunning, ambitious, resourceful, shrewd, determine.

When taking the sorting test on Pottermore I got Slytherin. I’m proud of my house, granted there have been some bad wizards and witches but not all Slytherin are the next dark lord! In fact one of the most famous wizards in history was a Slytherin: Merlin! 

The character profile I got with my house sitting was Bellatrix Lestrange. As a character I’m not a massive fan, she’s not the best of people. She’s cruel.  But it is what it is. When the films came out I sort of liked Bellatrix, still and Evil character but I’m a bit of a fan of the actress Helena Bonham Carter. She was casted perfectly to play this character.

I’ve always favoured Slytherin, maybe because of Draco Malloy... I’ve always liked the bad guy in any book series, like Eric from Divergent. I’m currently in the  process of decorating my Uni room Slytherin theme, it’s a work in progress.

While I have sold extremely short wands (eight inches and under) and very long wands (over fifteen inches), these are exceptionally rare. I am in fact looking for someone who makes wands, I know it sounds crazy but I own Draco’s wand and I want to try and see if I can get my own wand made for me. It would be pretty cool, geeky but insane! 

I took the Patronus test too on Pottermore! I got a Tortoiseshell Cat. I think it’s pretty cool! I don’t know much about it but it’s something I will research.
