Hello!! I have been reading this one for a while now, I say a while because over Summer I haven't really had much time to read due to working a lot. I rarely had any free time, I was doing at least 40 hours+ at work alongside working on my days off. I managed to finally finish this book whilst I was on holiday (alongside three other books- hooray!).

I was supposed to read this book before the new season was realised on Netflix but I just couldn't wait. Having done this, it didn't make any difference as the book pretty much had nothing to do with the season. Or many of the seasons in fact, but we will dicuss more into that soon.

I don't know how to say this without sounding like really judgemental but nothing seemed to happen within the book. It was an alright read and set foundations for vital characters in the series. Netflix definitely used a lot of creative license, I mean they would have to because in the book there is not much to actually go on. Different names were used in the book than in the series, for example, the character that was Alex was based on is in fact called Nora.

Speaking of Piper and Alex or in the case of the book Piper and Nora. You did not see much interaction between the two characters in the book, the relationship was definitely developed more in the series. Alex is one of my favourite characters in the series, I was kinda saddened that she (Nora) didn't really feature much in the book and that in the book they didn't rekindle their love at all. The series itself is mainly focused on the relationship between those two characters, which is one of the things I love about the series.

I feel like since I hold the Netflix series with such high regards I unfairly expected the same with the book, which sadly isn't the case. I feel like the book made me dislike Piper a bit more. In the series, she shows her white privilege and is shown more so in the book. It was annoying, and I wanted to explore more of the other characters but obviously, the book is autobiographical. The writer focused more on herself than those around, which is expected.

I feel as though I haven't really come away with much after reading the book. Usually, with books in general, I come away feeling a certain way or having learned something new and that just wasn't the case here. I am unaffected by the book, it was an alright read. I probably won't read it again, it didn't add or take anything away from my love for the Netflix series. Would I recommend reading it? Not really. I suppose if you want to read it for the sake of having said you read it then go for it. If you're wanting to read it for spoilers in the series or have a better look into, this will not do that for you.

The next book that I will be reviewing is a little gem called 'What would Boudicca do?' I am quite excited to tell you guys about this one!!

Orange is the new Black (review)

I've seen the title float around Netflix and it peaked my interest but not enough to watch it immediately until tonight. I fancied something light hearted and thought why not?
I have to say it was so much better than I had anticipated and for two reasons
1) It turned out to be sort of a musical - I adore musicals so naturally I was head over heels
2) James Corden - I adore this man and was much very much happy to see his face and hear his voice narrating the film.
I'm not a hundred percent sure exactly what I was expecting, but being Disney I thought it had to be something happy. I think what I liked best was that it wasn't just a focus on one fairytale it had several entwined, also it wasn't always so happy it got dark in certain parts, which I loved. Also amongst the enticing storyline and catchy songs, were many familiar famous faces; Anna Kendrick, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Johnny Depp, Chris Pine and Christine Baranski. All of which were incredible.
The film was longer than I thought it would be, but the plot twist definitely made up for it. Having said all the above, there was parts that were quite shocking and abrupt, like sudden deaths and promiscuous Princes, but a good one time watch.

Into the Woods

Near the end of the last academic year, in media we were shown the first episode of Breaking Bad, and I quite enjoyed it but never got round to sit down in my spare time to watch the series for myself.Until  last night. I am half way through the first season, and I am loving every minute of it. I am trying to pace myself so it gives me something to look forward to at night, however last night it was difficult resisting the urge to binge watch all night and just stay awake and not sleep, but I managed to not, woo to self control.
I am loving how the story enfolds so far, my favourite character is Jesse, he is intresting and I have this huge thing for the actor Aaron Paul, he is just everything. The story is so interesting, like there hasn't been a part so far where I haven't been confused or not staring at the screen. I am super excited to see how Jesse unfolds and I am just so so ready to binge Breaking Bad!

Breaking Bad Binge

As promised a film review, maybe this is technically a documentary but what the hell I'll review it anyways.
I have been a huge fan of Tyler Oakley for years now, and he is one of my favourite youtubers. He is inspirational, entertaining and just a genuine person. His Youtube videos never fail to inspire, he just a ball of fun.
Whilst going through Netflix earlier I found Snervous and I was immediately excited, and I hadn't seen yet so it was a long time coming. I didn't know what to expect, so I have just finished watching it and WOW. I MEAN WOW!
It was emotional, it had me laughing, crying, and smiling to myself like a little fool. It was amazing to learn so much more about the guy I have been watching throughout my teen years. We learn more about his family life and coming out, and the issues he had to face with his father, and it made me cry. And it made me realise that family is important but not as important as your own happiness and knowing what you are and what you want. I felt so bad for Tyler and with the situation his faced with his father and I can honestly say I never want him to feel like that ever again, not just him but anyone who has difficulties with people who can't or won't accept who you are, if they don't like it or want to think different, that is there problem not yours.
Anyways, during Snervous we got to see what goes on behind and inbetween the tours and just how much of a toll that can take on Tyler, and it kind of broke my heart seeing him stress and it made me realise not everything is what it seems. It isn't easy showing up to places and being there for hours and getting back out again, there is alot inbetween and there is a lot of pressure on a person to deal with that.
The tour looked like to much fun, Tyler was beaming and giving his all. He is so lovely to everyone, even people who got photographs late, and even when he was incredibly uncomfortable with fans hanging outside of his hotel. Tyler is a strong person, and I know I don't know him personally even though I feel as though I do, I am so incredibly proud of him!
The film was great. it was lovely and it was really enjoyable and I personally didn't see a downfall at all.
