Two nights ago  I went to my best friend's gig at the 02 Academy, he is the guitarist of a band called Holding Out. The show was the best night of my life. The opening bands were joyous, I danced with my best friends and got drunk.
First, I met with Olivia. We went for food and then went for drinks in the Dog and Parrot. Naturally, as pint was in order before the gig.
I had been hyped for the gig for months, last week I met with the guitarist Jason to pick them up. He is in incredible, such a talented guy who I am proud to call my best friend.
The show was so personal and it was amazing watching my best friend do his thing.

It was last year when I went to one of his first gigs in Jumpin Jacks, a little space above a bar. And this week I got to see him and his band perform at the O2 Academy - this is surreal and insane.

The vibes were incredible, good guests and the crowd was so alive. It was such a positive energy bouncing between bodies, it was a night I definitely needed. Naturally, a lot of my college friends attended. The band is quite known in my sixth form, so it was good to see some friendly faces I hadn't seen since exams.

Holding Out have their EP on Spotify, please check it out. My personal favourite songs from the EP are Swing for the Fences and Plain Sailing, it was surreal singing along in the crowd. Jason, he has worked so hard on the EP. He himself produced the entire thing, and he did an amazing job. I am so proud of him. His bandmates were incredible too, on their top form. Ellis' vocals impressive as always, Charlie and his energetic vibes on bass, the concentration from Ryan the drummer and Jason smashed it with his incredible guitar solos!

You never really grow up, I realised this today. Sure bills happen and even more responsibility but you're still young at heart. I realised this as I sat with one of my close friends dancing and miming along to a playlist I created. A playlist that contains tracks from childhood Disney films; Camp Rock, High School Musical, Starstruck and the programme Hannah Montana. As eighteen year olds this is probably not normal, but we've been doing this on a daily basis, allowing our young selves to recite lyrics and jamming to the songs we once swore were our lives. It's those moments that make me feel alive and filled with pure happiness. I'm listening to this playlist as I type away, this playlist has become my guilty pleasure, my go to instant happiness. Do you have your go to pick me up?

Pick me up

This  thing? What do you mean you're in love? It was a little fling. I told you not to get attached, I can't go through this again. We are just hooking up, and now you're going to fuck things up? We had fun but I can't go on. Commitment just ain't my song.
Back off, stop calling my phone non stop. We happened once maybe twice, okay maybe three times. The sex was good but that's simply enough. You think we are something that we are not, mate it simply needs to stop. Feelings are something I can't do, so trust me when I'm ending this it's best for you.

-monologue inspired by McFly's Bubble Wrap-

How could you just move on like that? Quick and easy like I was nothing, like we didn't happen. You hurt me, you hurt us. You pushed me away like you always do, but I'm the one feeling guilty, but it was you! I am broken, and you? You're smiling with her! Whoever she is, she'll be added to the pile, like me she'll be just another ghost in your bed!

How could you manipulate me like that? Make me belief I was the one who kept fucking up, you monster. Did I mean nothing to you at all? Even after you torn my heart to shreds you kept pushing, painting the city with rumours about me.  You cowardly liar!

How could you make it about you? Make it out as if you can relate to every sad song. "Don't get all emotional baby" That's what you always told me, you're the one who was so unable to communicate.
This is the last time I let you hurt me. Have fun with her, I so hope to God she doesn't have to go through the shit I did, no person deserves your crap. I want nothing to do with the things you're going through!

How could you?

I have had so much work to get through for Sixth Form, as always I have left to the weekend before I return. Usually, it saddens me and puts a downer on my mood, but this time is different. It is different because Spotify has had my  back. Their playlist Oldies but Goodies which featured songs from 2005 to 2015, I've been lip syncing and dancing to myself whilst typing away. This playlist is perhaps my favourite one so far on Spotify, it's uplifting and the throwbacks, little journies through Memory Lane with the likes of Gwen Stafani's Holla Back Girl and The All-American Rejects Dirty Little Secret, it's like a party of your own. I don't think I've ever enjoyed writing an essay so much! So, if you're needing a pick me up or something to get your through your workload I highly recommend you grab your earphone and give it a little listen, at least one song in the playlist will make you smile!

Over the years I have acquired a love for Radio, I listen to it daily and I have found it soothing and much more enjoyable that listening to music controlled my by myself or CD's. Sure I can decide which song I want to play on my phone but I don't get to experience the radio presenters. I love listening to the radio, not only for the music, but for the radio presenter's banter. They tell funny anecdotes and share their outlook on things and it's highly amusing, I am forever laughing. When public calls are aired it's fascinating because every time I am surprised and intrigued by the other people in my county. Granted with radio they have a habit of playing the same songs but I have found new favourite songs that way, but I still think listening to radio is just a great feeling. Radio  makes me genuinely happy. One day I'd love to give it a try myself, I was into it last Summer but I never pursued it.

Holding Out

Wednesday, 20 July 2016

I am recovering from last night plenty of water and a good book. The pub was amazing, it was beautiful and I was one hundred percent impressed. The ceiling has record covers over it, the walls had band posters and the music was amazing. Newcastle's only Rock N Roll bar was incredible, I definitely will be spending more drunken nights in there. Due to difficulities and such the night was short, which was annoying but nonetheless I did get drunk pretty fast. The outing was rushed and there was a lot of waiting around for people but I am glad I went all the same. I am hoing to become better acquainted with the place in the near future, by near future I mean all Summer. The atmosphere was fun, and even though the place was quite small it was amazing. My fourteen year old self which dreamed of 'cool' places like this would be screaming in her converse with excitment. Next time I go I think I will go with people who share the same need of wanting to have fun and possibly dangerously drunk. I really wanted to have the time of my life but if I am honest I didn't, no fault of the pubs of course. But I am sure I will make more memories in there with people who actually want to be around me. I have more photos which I will be sharing in tomorrow's weekly favourites. There was an incident at the end of the night which sobered me right up, we went to get food at Townhouse and there were drunk old guys who creeped me the heck out and well we left before getting food and went our separate ways, which resulted in my spending the night alone in a huge house (even though I invitied friends but oh well) with cans and excess food. What a fabulous night...

I usually do a quote of the week on a Thursday but I am shaking with excitement. Information has been going around about McFly touring at the end of the year, those were the words from the boys Danny and Tom when they surprised a young fan on stage the other night.
I am extremely excited, I haven't really been to a concert before, I've seen people live at pride (Shane Ward, Lucy Spraggan and Bewitched) but that's different. I have had chances to see people but I've always to loose my 'concert virginity' to an artist I adore, and well this is my chance. I will finally see  my boys life, and maybe even meet them if they're doing meet and greets. I would travel to see these guys live but I do hope they come to Newcastle though. I am so excited, to see Flones in person and the adorable Pudd. and DANNY JONES. I am so so excited. Determind so the boys live and meet them, this calls for preparation! Also if the tour is announced and everything is confirmed I will probably add a countdown somewhere on my blog for the date I'll be seeing them!

My favourite Band McFly two members recently have had children, Harry Judd (the sexy Drummer) and his wife Izzy Judd (Lovely Izzy!) gave birth to their first child Lola Rose Emma Judd on the 25th January. The pair have been in love many years and I think it was the McFly Wonderland tour they met, Izzy being playing the clarinet (off the top of my head I may be wrong) and well that's how the Judd's love began. Yesterday Tom Fletcher (singer-songwriter and also plays guitar, also a Youtube genius and a who only gets better with age!) and his amazing wife Giovanna Fletcher (amazing author also youtuber she's great!) gave birth to their second son Buddy, it's cute because Buzz and Buddy! The lovers grew up together, and Tom never gave up on his love for Gi, it's romantic and well it's amazing the Fletcher and Judd family are growing. If these children turn out anything like their dad's we can expect McFly 2.0. I am so happy for these guys, I have loved McFly for years, I adored their young stages (especially Danny) and they're here and it's amazing to see how far they've come. It's just exciting, even though McFly is kind on pause I still keep up to date with my favourites. So who have the next McFly baby? The Jones' or Doug?

I found an old memory stick of mine the other day, and on it was just music. Many songs that I used to love so over the past few days I have been rekindling with them, and it's weird how a song can caputure a moment, a feeling, and every time you hear that song these memories are triggered. I suddenly remember old friends and stupid things we used to do. Music is powerful, it is captivated and it can make you feel so much. Certain songs just make me happy to the point I could dance, and I don't dance.

HAPPY FRIDAY!
You guys have no idea how much I have needed it to be Friday! This week hit me like a brutal wrecking ball, I wasn't ready nope. I wasn't read for an ear infection, or going back to college, or the three mock exams, or the sleepless nights, or just emotional feelings, I wasn't ready what so ever.
Friday did pick everything up though, the last mock was today, also my ear infection is pretty much nearly fixed thanks to ear spray and painkillers. The first week back from being off for half term always throws me off a little.
As expected of a Friday it well and truly cheered me up. I laughed, I got butterflies and had a blast. My college life is moving forward, slowly but surely but I'm getting to terms with things and I'm ready to not have a rerun of last year.
I'm currently enjoying some music, which is good to wear earphones without being muffled or hurting my ear a lot.
Tomorrow should be a good day, I plan on attending  a writing group, which meeting other writers in my age range is always a blessing. I have good vibes mainly because I really get along with creative people and our ideas bounce off one another and well sometimes that's all the inspiration I need!
I may stay up late too, catch up on my Sims and just chill. It is the weekend, it is well needed!

The busted announcement in in twenty minutes and I think it will probably be the return of Busted, and a tour announcement.

So what does this mean for McBusted? Well hopefully this means the return of McFly  (my ultimate favourite  band) and their sixth album. There are two mcfly babies on the way so maybe not too much will happen on music wise.

With the whole McBusted thing I am happy it happened, it was juts seven guys having fun and being happy and that is important. McBusted brought a lot of people together, first of all I have made many Internet friends because of them. Thank you for that mcbusted. To be honest I wasn't a huge fan of Busted before the supergroup however due to the super group I have gained a lot of respect and love for Matt and James, and I know I will probably listen to Busted 's new music when it's released.

I'm not overly sad if they part their ways, as along as I still get Danny and Flones  then I am a happy woman. Also admittedly I have been so ready and waiting for the return of McFly  literally for the past year and much more I've been listening to their past albums not stop and I'm so excited for new music.

I know I will probably never be able to McBusted but hopefully I can see McFly and maybe even busted separately so hope isn't lost. Danny is my favourite  member and always will be, and really as long as he is happy and doing what he loves then I am happy.

I'm glad McBusted happened but McFly  I'm ready for you.

Jones

We met briefly at a young age, I was a fan and he was my hero. I showed a little more than my heart, and he sang his way through my thoughts.

Years later we met, and oh how he changed my life. We didn't meet at a concert, or in the street instead we met on a chat show, he was no longer the only one in a band, I too had reached his level. I only ever wanted to meet him, I never knew I'd actually be working with him.

There was a lot more to Danny Jones than I ever thought...
