Hello, back this week with a post about none other than the Nintendo Switch game Animal Crossing New Horizons. This game was released back in March 2020, 3 days before lockdown to be precise. I was gifted the game for my birthday from my parents on March 23rd, weirdly the first day of lockdown, and to be honest I didn’t know at the time how helpful the game would be for my mental health during the lockdown.  It may sound a little dumb but it helped me, it gave me something to put my time and attention into. I played that game every single day of lockdown, until I had to work again. Admittedly I didn’t play as much between that time and now. I’ve rekindled back into the game with the winter season and falling in love with it all over again.

As my little character roams over Flo (my island) I see the snow falling on all my creations. In lockdown I wasn’t able to visit my favourite places like bookshops or cafes so I reinvented those into my game. My bookish area is my favourite thing on my island:

I started off with this library at first, still my favourite area on Island Flo. My villagers never really use it or care for it but like any other Animal Crossing player and/or creator we create this things for ourselves more than anything else. I decided to get creative with tiki bars and camping corners. Needless to say, I have spent many hours on the game.

I love creating  reading nooks around my island, a little book world of my own. I think the thing I love the most about my island is I’ve made so other people can visit, I had friends visit me virtually and we tour each other’s creations. I created my own Starbucks, a personal favourite of many of my visitors. I liked that game allowed me to be creative because truth be told I didn’t do a lot of writing but was able to be creative through the game. Lockdown was mentally draining but without this came I fear it would have been even more so. Below my little cage:

I have to say the best thing I have ever created (as is very on brand for me) is my Shrek area. I tried to hard to recreate one of my favourite films. It’s not exact but you can see the vibe I was going for. I think Hippeux is the only villager with his own special area:

Is there a game you’ve been playing that has helped you through this year?

A quick screenshot of seeing the New Year through on the game! Happy new year! Nintendo has kept up thoroughly entertained with countdown day, toy day, fishing tournaments and bug catching tournaments. If you wish to visit my island via dream code here it is: DA-4598-3101-8015.

Island Flo - My Bookish Island

Hey!
Long-time no blog, but I am back! With an announcement; I have finally created a Youtube for my Simming! You can find me at 'TheGeordieSimmer' or you can watch my first video below.

I thought I would come on here and talk about the plans I have for the channel and the types of videos that I intend to create and talk about some of my favourite Simmer Youtubers!
So far, I have only posted an intro. A video talking about myself whilst creating myself on The Sims 4. This was fun, we are in early stages so it's easy to detect that I am a beginner. I hope to make more videos in the future, I am currently editing my next video.
What videos should you expect to see on my YT channel?
- Speed builds - this is what I hope the main content on my channel to be, I love building and watching speed builds (especially TheSimSupply) and I want to grow as a builder and share my builds.
- Reactions/reviews to new content, I want to open new packs and share my thoughts right there and then.
- Gameplay  - I plan on doing some challenges, I am excited to explore challenges I haven't done before.

When will I upload?
I am either aiming for once a week or maybe every fortnight just to begin with. I haven't quite figured out editing yet, so I am still in the learner stage, so my uploads will eventually become more regular.

Who are my favourite YT Simmers?
- TheSimSupply
- Deligracy
- Kate Emerald
 - The Red Plumbob

Thank you for reading, all feedback for my channel is welcome! All suggestions are welcome :)

I have been playing lots of Sims lately, I have been working on one house for my generation family. Naturally,  I keep tweaking it and changing things around. There are certain parts of the house that I am so inlove with. The house first started basic, for one Sim.

My favourite part of the lot is the Greenhouse I created, infact it may be the best thing I have ever made. The Greenhouse was added in the second generation of my family, one of the twin brothers got into gardening.

I really enjoyed creating this build, I think it is important you create new things when you are working through generations so you don't get bored. Here is come closeups of inside the Greenhouse.

Another favourite part of this house is the little 'inspiration' room I call it. The room where my first sim created her fortune through writing books. I like this room a lot, it's very colourful. It has everything you need to become a bestselling writer and even an internet sensation. I really enjoy decoarating desks, I don't know why but it is my favourite part of building.

Here is a few of my favourite corners of the house, some parts I am still working on so really I am showing you the best bits. I have not used cheats to gain money or to change relationships. I do use the cheat where you can go back into CAS so I can edit new sims clothes but that is about it.

Above is a picture of the front garden, I usually fill this with Sharks. It sounds harsh but I use it to kill townies, like when my Sims marry outsiders I end up getting bored of the townies, so I basically use them to help create babies and kill them off. Harsh but a girls' gotta do what a girls' gotta do.
I never really concentrate on the kids room so I decided to give it ago. I really liked how this one turned on.

This is the room of my lesbian's Sim (third generation) adopted child. I feel like the more packs I buy the more I enjoy building.
As the generations have been going on, I am onto the fourth, I have decided to change the living area as well as the kitchen. I think my favourite stuff pack has to be Vintage Glamour Stuff, I just love everything about it, as you can see by my Gatsby/Jazz inspired living area.

I bought the Romantic Garden Stuff pack, mainly because it was on offer for Valentines day. I decided to try and create a beautiful garden. I also created  a little graveyard, I wanted a place where  I could keep my generations. I don't let them be ghosts, just because I find it  a little weird. Naturally, as I play more the graveyard will expand.

I really want to create a Sims youtube account, but I am not sure if I should. What are your thoughts? Thank you for reading, and below is a picture of the outside lot. This house was originally Cool Cabana.
