I am at that awkward body size. I just manage to fit into straight size clothes but too small to properly fit into plus size clothing. A little information about myself and my body, I don’t usually freely share this information but I figure it gives context on what I’m dealing with. My chest is 36/38 B/C, a comfortable size. It changes depending on the time of the month and where I’m buying underwear from.  I usually dress between the sizes 16 and 18 (UK size, in the US this would size 14 and size 16 I think) depending on the store. Unless it’s tshirts then I buy a couple sizes bigger just for that baggy look.

By technical term I am plus size (which I don’t mind) but it’s hard to shop plus size because in a lot of shops plus size starts at the size or two above mine.  For example Forever 21 online in straight size go to th  size unde  mine but thei  plus size starts the size above... a girl just can’t win. I call my size the awkward size, it’s not a bad thing it just means when I find a shop that has my sizes I usually stick to it. Stick to what you know right?
I am fully aware I can change my size, if you have a problem fix it etc. But that takes time, you know this I know this. I won’t be this size forever. It’s a working progress but right now I have to dress the body I have and not for the body that I want.

Call me a basic but my favourite clothing store is Primark.  The prices are good and even the quality has been stepped up in recent years. I know some people get a bit judgemental about Primark but I know how their sizes work. What fits my body and what doesn’t. I have to say that my favourite thing about Primark is that the clothes are available for all sizes. You can get the same top in sizes 6 up to 22. The same top! I know this seems dumb but when it comes to plus size clothes companies change the type of clothing, usually floral print (don’t get me started on this, a rant for a later date) they  create new items which is cool but really what we plus size girls want is the same clothes you offer for straight sizes! We  just want the same cute designs and things but just our sizes, surely that’s not too much to ask?? Primark is a gem for this plus their Harry Potter merch is life, I’ve put so much money into buying merchandise from their it’s unbelievable! As much as I adore Primark, I’ve been wanting to broaden my horizons. I am becoming more confident with my body and quite frankly just want more clothes. For a while now I’ve been watching YouTubers do Plus size hauls, I just love seeing people’s clothing choices and seeing different items fit different sizes. I love seeing women of all shapes and sizes looking cute and rocking all kinds of outfits without a care in the world. You girls are my inspiration!

Watching these types of videos allow me to find clothing inspiration, new things to possibly try out. Only being an awkward size I’ve been struggling to find YouTubers with a similar body type to my own. I’m aware every body is different and that’s great, it’s just I have no clue what these clothes would look like on me. Which is a struggle when online shopping to begin with. A lot of the plus size clothing stores are online, which is great but fittings can be strange.
Different shops run different sizes. For example, in Primark  I usually fit into a large whereas I recently discovered I fit into an H&M medium. Naturally, I was over the moon with this discovery. Confident level boost +10.
I am looking for some recommendations, on YouTubersnas well as clothing brands.  I am maybe contemplating trying to do a ‘will it fit?’ series. Maybe here on my blog, write it up or video it or something. Just to perhaps help other girls like myself who are also at that ‘awkward’ size.  Would a ‘Will it fit?’ series be a good idea? I’m also broadening my horizons on jeans, so please comment some places I can try and types of jeans you would personally recommend!!

Plus size?

Hello, I am back with another Summer Glam! Yes, another Sims Edition - only a male version as promised. When playing the Sims I genuinely struggle with Male Sims, I can never find enough CC. And I never put as much detail into creating male Sims as much as I do Female. Regardless, I give it a go to make Summer Sims!!

I chose a sleeveless vest top with bright colours, paired with shorts. This outfit gives me Summer festival vibes!

I decided for his work/smart dress to use a shirt with the sleeves rolled up. The use of the colour pink shirt I think gives a mellow look to the Sim. Adding light summer tones to the work place.

For the night time attire I chose heart boxers. They are fun and perfect for the hot Summer nights.

This is a party oufit. Again festivcal vibes with the bright colours on the tshirt. Ripped jeans - not only a fashion statement but allows room for legs to breathe when out and about. I decided to use Van-like shoes. They are chill and really goes with the outfit.

Simple swim wear with some grey shorts with a mellow yellow trips and pull ties.

I started off this outfit with a popular band vest 'The Rolling Stones' adding modern music taste to the game. I paired this outfit similary to the previous with shorts and white vans. I went for fashionable and chill with this outfit.

For this Sims working out gear, I chose a branded Adidas t-shirt with camouflage  shorts. Keeping it light yet effective for a hearty workout.

Again for sleepwear I went with simple boxers, only to add personality and humour to match his characteristics I paired the boxers with fun bunny slippers.

It's difficult looking for CC for Male Sims, I decided to go with palm tree holiday shorts for this gentleman.

This is probably one of my favourite outfits I have put together for a male Sim. I decided to use modern culture again, and used a Rihanna print oversized tshirts, matched with ripped jeans and maroon trainers. This look suggests fashionable but lowkey did not try very hard.

I really adore this Sim, and outfit. I downloaded the unisex hair from The Sims Resource. I have never really liked it for female Sims but I am living for it with this male Sim. This is a party outfit, sunglasses to look cool as well as keep sun out of eyes. A light top and jacket with three quarter length jeans. I topped this look off with bracelets, rings and a watch.

Is it even Summer if you don't see a guy wearing crazy tight speedos??

Athletic Summer outfit at the ready!! I went with a really cool superhero design shirt, Ironman and Tony Stark - my favourite superhero! Paired with tight shortd and fashionable trainers.  I also decided for this to have tattoos. As like humans we all have different traits and we do not look like alike.

And finally - swim shorts with a hint of bright blue!

So my attempt at a male Sim Summer glam. I did enjoy this but I have to say it was not easy! I really enjoy doing Sim Glams, I will definitely be doing more in the future. If you have any Sim suggestions or even blog post suggestion please feel free to comment! Thank you for reading and see you on the next post!

Summer Glam #2 Sims Edition

Tuesday 22 August 2017

I keep seeing Summer glams all down my Instagram feed and various other social medias. I am not very much a dress up for Summer kind of girl, more whatever I feel comfortable in. If you've visited my blog before you will know I am a huge fan of the Sims. And I decided to Summer Glam - Sim editions. I have created two female Sims - who have different Summer styles - expect a male version in the upcoming week or so.  I use a lot of CC and you will find pretty all of those items on The Sims Resource.
I am living for the glitter eyeshadow it's bright but not too much - since it is summer vibes I used a soft pink lipstick which looks almost natural

In Summer some women like to keep their outfits light, so I chose a dress for casual wear. If you're from the UK (like myself) you probably won't casually wear dresses during our Summers unless by a miracle the sun shows its face.

This her sleepwear, I am pretty sure a lot of girls can relate when it comes to hot nights - tshirts are your best bet or just simply just underwear.

I chose to use dark shades for this Sims party outfit, yet kept some brightness with the use of hold eye shadow.

Where the Sim lacks Summer colours in her makeup she certainly makes up for it with her outfit. I wanted her to stand and contrast with her everyday outfit.

This together is one of my favourite swim suits and hairstyles to use within the game. Together they give holiday vibes, chill and just a good time kind of look.

Next is a brunette Summer beauty! With this Sim I tried out a new hairstyle I downloaded from The Sims Resource, and I fell in love immediately so with the upcoming styles of the brunette the hairystyle is consistent.

Unlike the first Sim I decided to give her everyday look more natural. Realistically in the Summer, sometimes makeup can be a nightmare to deal with. With this outfit I chose a flower printed tank top and blue shorts. It is chill yet has that hot Summer vibes.

This is the formal outfit I created. Heavily made up but I am living for her eye makeup. I decided to dress this Sim in a jump suit. It looks professional but also gives room to breathe as this piece is sleeveless.

This Sim was being a poser whilst I got her into her swim suit. I like the darkness of the swim suit yet it shows elegance with the feathers. It's dark and yet still suitable for the beach or chilling by the pool.

This is the party outfit. I went with the off the shoulder top/jumper because it looks comfortable but also it will give some warmth as the night goes of the parties. The shorts I decided to team with netted tights and knee high boots. This was more of a fashion statement if anything else. I like the bad ass look she has here.

This is all I have for you today with my Summer Glam Sims edition! I will be posting more of these in the upcoming few days. Also, expect some Summer/Holiday glams featuring myself whilst I am away on Holiday at the end of August and the first 2 weeks of Septemeber!

Share, comment and please follow the blog. It means a lot to me that people take the time out of their day to read my posts.

Summer Glam #1 Sims Edition

Monday 14 August 2017

This was the outfit I wore on Thursday. My favourite outfit of this week. Black is very slimming, and I felt confident and generally really good about myself!

Holterneck; Primark - I can't remember how much I think it was £3-£6 not too sure though.
High Waist Skinny Jeans; Primark £13 - these are my favourite jeans of all time. I discovered these a little over month ago and I already have several pairs of them, also they make your ass look so good!

Also I am a Primark girl, I haven't expanded to other women's clothes shops yet, I just stick to what I know.

This is my favourite selfie, Demi did my makeup and well as always I loved it. I like to think I went from a 3 to a solid 7. Also my hair looked pretty good too, due to lighting it looks slightly ginger in this picture but I don't mind too much.

I don't know much about the makeup I am wearing, I do know the foundation is No.7 beautifully matte.

Demi is my go to person for make up, whenever we are together she does it. I like it because she knows how to make certain features more prominent, it makes me feel more confident and girlie. It's just a good feeling!

Thank you for reading today's blog, see you tomorrow!! -Lauren

Outfit of the Week

Sunday 29 May 2016

I like to believe I know my body better than anybody else, I've looked at it the most it is mine and I can't ever change that. I know my flaws and favourite parts.  And well I want to dicuss some of my flaws well things that were once my flaws or are transitioning from the flaw mentality set up I have going. Also my family and friends have been so supportive and I love them dearly for always having my back and picking me up.
Firstly let's discuss the first subject of the title thighs. For as long as I remember I have always had a problem with my thighs, for years I've thought they were too fat and should always be hidden. I wouldn't let myself wear shorts or be seen in anything that was revealing. So my go to is always Jeans (sometimes leggings not see through I am somewhat classy) and along with my thighs I hated my arms. I Always covered up and anyone who knows me knows I practically live in Hoodies and Jeans, rarely ever have my arms on show more so my thighs.
Until recently, yesterday I bought a whole new outfit. And today I tried it on and and even took some pictures, and well here it is.
Yes arms and thighs on show. I am self conscious and having that photo online makes me incredibly nervous but I like the photo and it makes me feel somewhat good. And I know when I wear it to the cinema on Tuesday I will have to constantly remind myself I am confident and beautiful and can rock this and that short dungarees aren't just for thinner girls.
I am trying to become more comfortable in my body I am tired of hiding myself afraid of judgment. Well that ends now, whatever I wear is my choice and it isn't effecting anyone and if it that is their problem not mine. In order to love myself I need to put myself out there, I need to flaunt (what I call them) my flaws and love them, in order to move forward in my self love journey I need to step out of my comfort zone. So I am showing my arms and thighs in that picture and do you know what? The outfit is cute and I believe I look really good and I can't wait to wear this out, I am confident, beautiful and I fucking rock this outfit!
Now onto the second subject Freckles. I can't get rid of them, and well I'm going to be honest. When I take selfies my phone has a beauty face thing built which can be adjusted and so I've always used that to make my face smoother and freckle free until recently. I've been loving my freckles and turning off the beauty face I've been embracing them, I've been posting selfies on Instagram where they look bold on me. I never knew Freckles were so beautiful, they're little dots of cuteness.  They make me feel so fresh and naturalistic, don't get me wrong I love when I have makeup on and I'm all dolled up, but it feels good taking the steps to self acceptance without feeling like I need to alter things.
Maybe becoming an adult has taught me a few things. Something has clicked inside of my head. I have a new mindset I need to think of me and love me, whatever anyone else thinks is their business, just because someone else may think big isn't good doesn't mean I have to believe that.
As long as I'm not hurting anyone or myself then who cares what I'm wearing or looking like? I'm trying to be happy with myself and work on self acceptance and embrace my features and it's exciting and scary and I'm ready. My recent achievement on liking my body is beginning with my freckles and thighs, what are you beginning?
